Crosswind Landings...a Pilot's Challenge

After watching this video, I'm extremely impressed! :) After all, I have to do something like this every now and then, but nothing so fantastic (...yet...)!

Usually when the crosswind is strong (crosswind is the wind component that comes at 90 degrees to the runway heading), the Captain will handle the landing. But I do remember when I was flying the Cessna 172R in Jandakot, Western Australia, I had to "crab" my way in like what you see! Of course, a B777 and a Cessna 172R are incomparable!! ;)

There are some airports in the world that present such challenges once in a while due to strong winds so I will face it someday. But I'm happy to say that I am trained (as do all pilots) to do such landings, so rest assured that we know what to do!

Enjoy the video!
